Three generations of the Royal Family are depicted on this postcard from 1910. We’ve got Queen Victoria; her son, King Edward VII, and his son King George V. Their combined reigns lasted 1837 to 1936. This card was issued after the death of King Edward VII as George ascended the throne.
A friend of mine in England mailed this card to me, along with a few others, since he knew I’d appreciate them. I especially like this one because it’s got two of my favorite monarchs, Victoria and George V, on it. The family resemblance is strong, yes?
The card, entitled “Monarchs of Our Generation,” was published as part of the Rotary Photographic Series.
