Goal for the Day: Why Grease the Squeaky Wheel?

Presently, the news is filled with ongoing coverage of the seemingly rapid decline of one popular sitcom star. His unraveling is actually a longtime coming and not too much of a surprise. Right now, he’s lashing out—making incomprehensible statements and generally embarrassing himself. We can’t help but watch. It’s the fascination of the abomination. He’s become the butt of many jokes which, in some ways, he’s brought upon himself, but are also nonetheless tragic and uncalled for.

This is a soul in trouble. This is a squeaky wheel who is needing grease, but we’re giving him the wrong kind of grease. Sometimes squeaky wheels need to be left to professionals. He’s using this attention to fuel his irrational fires. Let’s just leave him alone. Let’s let his family and professionals talk to him and take care of him.

Our society is filled with people who feed upon the chaos of others. Our energy is better spent taking care of our own issues, our own families, our own hurts and our own triumphs. Let’s save our grease for ourselves and let the other squeaky wheels be tended to by professional mechanics.
