Last week, we were reintroduced to The Duchess of Fallbridge only to find her in the wicked clutches of Iolanthe Evangeline. Iolanthe is ready to practice her voodoo again and aims to try to heal her ill son with some old-fashioned sacrifices. So, with the Duchess drained of some much-needed blood, Iolanthe set her sights on Naasir—hoping to use him to fuel her evil flames. Will Naasir’s premonition of his “destiny” come to pass or will Robert and Mr. Punch manage to get to him in time? We’ll find out in this week’s chapters of Punch’s Cousin.
Meanwhile, Ulrika Rittenhouse is still itching to get her hands on Barbara’s fortune. She already has the blue diamond—as well as Barbara’s husband—but, that’s not enough for the red-haired beauty. She wants everything she can get, and she’ll stop at nothing to make sure she gets it—even if it means Julian’s “death.”
Barbara Allen claims to want to repent. People say the funniest things sometimes. Is the former Lady Barbara ready to return to a quiet life in England? If so, she’ll have to get past Iolanthe first. And, then, she’ll need to escape from Ulrika. Perhaps Barbara’s better off where she is.
As Mr. Punch struggles to make sense of the world, he’ll find both his bravery and his newfound sense of calmness tested when a new challenge presents itself. Punch will accidentally put both himself (and Julian) and Robert in terrible danger as they prepare for Edward Cage’s masquerade ball.
You’ll see all of this, plus the return of the Duchess’ strength, and the arrival of an unexpected face form Adrienne’s past as we start a new week of Punch’s Cousin.
