With Christmas just thirteen days away, our journey here at Stalking the Belle Époque will continue with a further look at some truly exceptional historical Christmas presents. Along the way, we’ll stop at former Royal residence, Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. As always, we’ll take a glimpse at some of the treasures from the Royal Collection and from museums around the world.
I’m happy to say that in addition to our Christmas feature, the “Ornament of the Day,” on Tuesday, we’ll begin taking a look at some of my family’s traditional Christmas Cookies. If you like the “Treat of the Week,” you’ll really love this!
As we search for treasures—both past and present—I’ll share with you some unusual artifacts, toys and exceptional works of art from a variety of interesting places, and, as always, I’ll let you have a look at my own collection of random “stuff.”
This week, I’m also excited to announce the winners of the distinctions of “Person of the Year” and “Humanitarian of the Year” as we pay tribute to these two exceptional people.
Of course, we’ll have gorgeous jewels, gratuitous Bertie Dog pictures, a lot of Mr. Punch, and, I’m happy to say, Mr. Magoo. So, let’s take our quest for the beauty in life into the twelve days of Christmas, and celebrate each moment.
