Coming this Week at "Stalking the Belle Époque"

This week we’ll continue our journey into the world’s beauty with visits to The Lady Lever Gallery in Port Sunlight, Merseyside, England, as we look at some exceptional works of art by the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. The Lady Lever Gallery was established in 1922 by Sunlight Soap magnate, William Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme who dedicated the gallery to the memory of his beloved, late wife. The gallery houses an amazing collection of Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century English masterpieces in addition to one of the most impressive collections of Wedgwood in the world.

Our exploration of The Royal Collection will take us to England’s stately homes as we examine the paintings, sculpture and jewels that defined centuries of style. From England’s castles, we’ll voyage to the U.S. to take a tour of one of America’s castles in Rhode Island.

We’ll cast a spotlight on the talent and good works of two remarkable celebrities and we’ll also remind ourselves of the elegance of Golden Age Hollywood with a review of a classic film. As always, Punch’s Cousin, will continue with Chapter 200 and we’ll remind ourselves what’s been happening with the Duke of Fallbridge and his companions since Punch’s Cousin started.

There’s quite a bit of fun in store for you this week at Stalking the Belle Époque. As Spring blooms around us, let’s let our imaginations grow.
