As we venture into December, Stalking the Belle Époque will continue its journey around the world to show you some of the most beautiful and rarely scene treasures from international collections of art and images. We’ll visit the royal estate at Balmoral and learn about its history and its future. Along the way, we’ll also take a look at the gems (both literal and otherwise) from Queen Victoria’s personal collection.
Painting, sculpture, furniture and unusual artifacts from all corners of the earth will be revealed as we delve into the archives of the finest museums. And, as always, you’ll get a rare glimpse inside my own collection of art and antiques.
For December, we’ll be introducing a new feature to Stalking the Belle Époque—the ornament of the day. You’ll be able to see some of the many, varied Christmas ornaments I’ve collected over the last three decades (yikes).
Our continued exploration of classic films will pay homage to another collaboration between Catherine Deneuve, Jacques Demy and Michele Legrand with the brightly-colored and somewhat wild, Les Desmoiselles de Rochefort and we’ll also examine the two film versions of Imitation of Life.
This week, we'll also reveal the nominees for "Person of the Year" and "Humanitarian of the Year," and you'll have a chance to vote for the person in each category whom you feel should receive the top honor.
Punch’s Cousin will continue with Chapter 108 as Mr. Punch and his friends prepare for the annual masquerade ball. With the Duchess of Fallbridge in New Orleans, and all of their enemies in one place, there’s bound to be a lot of drama and chaos.
Thanks for continuing to visit Stalking the Belle Époque. Together, we’re making a difference in our communities by reminding ourselves of the beauty and grace that still remains in our world.
