Person of the Week: Ann Curry

The Emmy Award winning journalist known for her work on Today, Dateline NBC and NBC Nightly News, Ann Curry began her career in Oregon before moving to Los Angeles. She later worked as a correspondent in Chicago before joining Today in 1996. Now, Curry is considered among the leading anchors in her field and is known for her in-depth international reporting.


As well respected as she is in her field, she is also recognized for her tireless work with many causes. Curry has lent her name and time to The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation , The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Americares, and Save the Children among many others. Considered by many to be the most pleasant person in journalism, Curry’s warmth and good spirit is evident in all that she does. For her positive outlook and her charitable works, Ann Curry is this week’s “Person of the Week.”

Mom and me love her. We both wondered during the Great Female Anchor Swap how Ann Curry wasn't the most sought after. At the time, I don't recall her name even coming up as a candidate...

While I do love perky little Katie Couric, I find that I "trust" Ann's style. She has the ability to be informative, intelligent, and full of grace.
