Mastery of Design: The Flowerhead Snuffbox, 18th C.

We can’t be sure how this snuffbox ended up in the Royal Collection. This glimmering work of pink and white guilloché enamel and diamonds could have been collected by anyone from George IV onward. Regardless of its origins, it is a fine work of art. The oval, silver-gilt hinged box is adorned with reeded edges which keep the organic theme of the central diamond-set flowerhead going throughout the piece.

The maker and exact date of creation are unknown.
