We keep most of our valuable intellectual and personal property on our computers. We rely on them. Yet, they are, essentially just combinations of metal and plastic. They are, as we all know, subject to failure. Worse still, they can be lost or stolen. We never know when something will change and we’ll be unable to access our documents, photos and integral data. So, it’s imperative that we back-up our computers so that we have a copy of the information. Many of you already do store your data in an alternate location. If you don’t, today would be a great day to start. External hard drives can be purchased in a variety of venues for very little money. They connect easily to your computer and allow you to save your information—just in case.
