The One Hundredth Anniversary of the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary

On June 22, 1911, King George V and Queen Mary celebrated their coronation. Little did they know that they would be leading the Empire through some of the most turbulent times in its history. King George V’s dedication to his people and to Britain was fierce and Queen Mary’s interest in preserving the arts has allowed many generations to enjoy the mastery and workmanship of bygone days.

One hundred years later, we still celebrate their wondrous reign and remember their many contributions.

What a beautiful depiction...A photo would not have been nearly as momentous as this event required.

Did they sing 'God Save the King' when there was a king and queen on the throne?
