Signed simply, “Goorgen,” this print from 1855 depicts the arrival of Queen Victoria in Paris on August 18. The Royal party drives through the triumphal arch which had been raised by the “artistes” of the Paris Opéra on the Rue Le Peletier. This image serves to demonstrate the grand fuss which had been made in conjunction with the arrival of the Queen and Prince Albert.
