Object of the Day: A Vintage Paperweight
I don't know much about this paperweight. My parents gave it to me over Easter weekend and it's a nice addition to the collection of paperweights that I started as a child.
Long, tendril-like petals of emerald green rise up to hold a large clear bubble. On this bubble, an brilliant crimson lady bug rests peacefully as she is reflected from every angle.
I particularly like the combination of colors here. I suspect that it was made in the late 1940s, bit I have nothing but instinct to support that idea. Regardless, it seems quite at home with its other crystal brothers and sisters.
