Monograms and initials fall in and out of vogue with some regularity, and have for centuries. At times, wearing an initial or a monogrammed piece is considered the height of fashion. Other times, it’s considered gauche. Personally, I think if you like something and it’s tasteful, it’s always in style.
This vintage stickpin is always in style. Dating to the 1940’s, the stickpin was made during a time when tie bars and clasps had all but replaced the gentleman’s stickpin in fashion. The short pin shows that it was designed to be worn with a tie as opposed to the longer shafts of those pins which were made to be worn in cravats.
Brilliant-cut diamonds glitter from a white gold setting in the shape of the letter “J.” The pin itself is crafted from 14 karat yellow gold. This pin was given to me by a friend, and I’ve always loved it.
While monogrammed attire my not always be in vogue, this diamond masterpiece goes with everything.
